Wedding: Milk Glass & Moss

So I don’t really plan on doing a lot of flowers at our wedding, for two reasons. One they are expensive when they are done nicely, and Two they aren’t very…err..green? To cut hundreds of flowers that you really only use for a day, maybe a week before they die seems so pointless. Just too much waste.  So I’m looking into alternative options for this. I’m not totally sure what I’m doing for my bridesmaids, but I’m thinking small potted succulents that they can then take home. I do think I will have one special bouquet made for myself, but thats about it. There are a million alternatives to boutonnieres that have nothing to do with flowers that I think I will try.

For our “decorative flowers” I have decided to do moss! That way we can keep them or give them away, and they will last for as long as you take care of them. much nicer. I know you can buy moss online at a number of places:

-April’s Flowers

-The Moss Boss

-Moss Acres

-Miss Mossy

Along with moss I am planning to do succulents! I love them, they are so fat a juicy and green, perfect for what I’m going for. The plan is to do little moss and succulent arrangements in Milk Glass or faux Milk Glass containers all around. I can’t remember where I first saw this idea, but I LOVE it! My mom and I have been hunting high and low at Goodwill and store like that for cheap Milk Glass containers. I think together we have close to 25! I try to spend less than $5 per container. Here are some great photos to show you the idea more:

  1. Very cute idea Morgan, you could always use fake flowers from Michaels too for Boutineers or even just lemon leafs and a pretty ribbon. Sounds like your planning is going really well!!

  2. When I visited Grandma and Grandpa yesterday they had lots of defferent sedums going, and said we could put more, different kinds in in the spring. We’d just need to find that cool moss.
