Daily Eats – Day 23

Just a few new things. Almonds, Craisins (in an attempt to kill my Hot Fudge Sunday craving. It worked….for now. For dinner Mr. Gaunt made me Collared Greens, Sausage, Lima Beans, and Eggplant. Amazing.

Gym today was super lame as ALL the cardio machines were full (I hate my gym) so we did the rowing machine. We will see if my shoulders want to fall off tomorrow. As soon as our contract is up next month we are going to try out a different gym.

Daily Eats – Day 3

16 oz non fat Vanilla Latte

Fat free plain Greek Yogurt with Low Fat Granola

1 whole grapefruit

Stale almonds…yuk. Dried Dates

2 bites of a power bar (to get rid of the stale almond taste)

Fat Free Swiss Single

Veggie Pattie (same pic as yesterday as I forgot to take a new one)

Low Fat Chilli (homemade by the husband)

Orange Juice.

Mr. Gaunt is very sick…poor boy. So while he went to bed early I finished my BFF’s Bridal Shower invites and watched a bunch of Gossip Girl on Netflix. I also snuck one too many bites of Chili…lame. I also wanted sweets sooo bad but opted for a dried date…it sorta did the trick. Forcing myself to take pics of everything I eat really is holding me accountable. The only thing I’m noticing is that my dinners this week have all been pretty high in sodium, hopefully I wont bloat for weigh in on Sunday.

I also managed to go to the gym for an hour today, even though Mr. Gaunt didn’t go. I feel so motivated! I did arms today. It’s core tomorrow, and then my mom and I are trying a Pilates class on Saturday! I’m so excited.

30 in 90 HAPPY 2012!

2012 is sooooo my year. I can just feel it…seriously. Business, health, family, relationship, growth, finances, weight loss….its all gonna be great in 2012. Despite getting married and moving back to Washington, I’d say 2011 was a hard year. We had a lot of obstacles to overcome, and every month felt like a struggle. It just wasn’t the year for me.

in 2012 we have big plans too. In one week we will be doing a wedding expo with our new business Tied Bow Events, and I am so excited! This event will really give us a feel for how the summer and this wedding season will turn out. On a very tight budget we have been working our butts off getting all of our websites, promotions, packages and booth together. Fingers crossed and good thoughts!

In other big (fat) plans, we are doing the THIRTY in NINETY plan! Don’t be fooled, this plan is not something I found online, I made it up. Its pretty straight forward, lose thirty pounds in ninety days. Eat healthy, work out tons, lose weight.

I weighed in today, yup up 33 pounds from where I want to be. Mr. Gaunt is up too, too much, both of us.  For Christmas we bought each other 3 month gym passes and we have been going faithfully. The plan is to go 5 days a week for an hour. 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training. We both want it to sort of become a hobby, something we enjoy, where you can actually see and feel the results. The few times in my life where I regularly worked out, I never really felt like it was making any results. I want to change that.

For food, sugar is OUT! no more. I’m ok if there is a little sugar in breads or cereal, but nothing that is specifically made to be sweet. No candy, cakes, ice cream, baked goods.

Also, nothing fried, minimal cheese, low carb, lots of veggies. The usual. But smaller portions. Portion control is key. I will ALWAYS take half of every meal I eat out home with me. Also no more beer (him) or wine (me) except on special occasions.

Last I’m sharing pics of what I eat! For 90 days, if I eat it, you will see it. It will hold me accountable.

Weigh in is on Sundays, so no wild weekends.  If you want to join all you have to do is email me morganmelim(at)yahoo(dot)com or text (if you know my number) on Sundays how much weight you lost (not your actual weight), and I will list you our weigh in post! Take before and after pics too! And healthy food your eating, or gym pics and send those to me too! We can all motivate each other!

JANUARY 1st

Fat free plain Greek yogurt. 1/4 Cup low fat granola. 1 Grapefruit.REALLY dorky "Before" pic of me at the gym

Super dorky "Before" pic of me at the gym.

On the 5th day of Gym-mas

me, post gym, looking buff?

Mr. Gaunt and I did day 5 at the gym (stupid Christmas making us lazy.) today! Go us! And on this lovely day at the gym, we added Strength Training. We did arms. Biceps, Triceps, Highceps, Flyceps….or whatever they are called. It was nice, 45 minutes of cardio, 15 minutes of weights. We have also switched to Slacker Radio instead of Pandora because they supposedly have more variety and less adds, we will see. Do you have an opinion on the two?

In shallow news: I got THREE new perfumes for Christmas.  I’m trying them all out one week at a time, to see which one really is “me” although I plan to wear all three. This week I’m rocking the always FAB Miss Britney Spears Circus Fantasy.  At first I wasn’t sure, but it seems to go really well with my natural sent (that sounds gross). When I put it on it became kind of vanilla and citrus…its nice. Thanks Mr. Gaunt!

I think my mom is on board with our new health plan, it always helps to have the people around you on the same wagon.

Cliche

I would just like to note what a ridiculous Health Food Snack Cliche I am.

When I got home from the gym I was famished and proceeded to eat the following:

-1/2 an Avocado

-A handful of Banana Chips

-A handful of Raw Almonds

-A small piece of 80% Dark Chocolate

-A few Organic cat shaped graham crackers

Where the hell are the Sour Cream and Onion Potato Chips and the Costco chocolate muffins! Good lord….WHHHHYYY am I STILL chubby. People who deprive themselves of all amazing junk food really shouldnt be punished with the worlds largest thighs….just saying.

Oh and usually I do 45 minutes on the Elliptical (with the arms) which is about 4.5 miles and 400-450 calories burned. Today though my inner elbow joints were hurting so I did the treadmill. In 45 minutes on the treadmill I worked my ASS off and only did 3 miles, 300 Calories, and I wanted to die at the end. Who the hell would do a treadmill when Mr. Elliptical is soooo sweet to me and my knees.

Tanning and Other Such Things

I got a spray tan a few weeks ago with my Maid Of Honor Mallory. I’m 80% sure I liked it. I think I would do it for the wedding like 3 days before, so it wasn’t as dark (it really only lasted about 7 days). I also may try out an airbrush tan, supposedly they are more even, although I didn’t have any streaking problems.  This photo is 24 hours after I did it.

It was  bit extreme at this time, but a few days later it was more subtle. I got a lot of compliments and a lot of “No i doesnt look orange at all” so maybe it didnt? Either way I dont want to look majorly tan on my wedding day, just a little tan.

In other vain news, I joined the gym. Its a small local gym on my way home from work that is always empty, and always has a fan propped in front of an elliptical with my name on it….love. Its also only $30 a month.  I do 45 minutes every day on the elliptical after work. I usually do about 4.5 miles and burn about 500 calories in that time. My goal is to got 6 days a week until the wedding.

Right now I’m dealing with a SERIOUS case of self esteem problems. I dont plan on getting into on here, as I know its a mixture of stress and anxiety and depression, all probably based around the wedding. It’s a daily journey only I can talk myself through.

Other than that, work is busy, paintings keep coming in, and wedding plans are in full swing. tonight we are making a silhouette cake topper, super cute. I also made two loaves of Zucchini bread and managed to give almost all of it away in 24 hours…score.
