Light a Spark

We are "gettin skinny" sisters!

Had such a lovely chat with my good friend Kelli today. She too has lost a lot of weight over the last 2 years, and sometimes its nice to share your woes with a fellow loser.

Based on our conversation I did two things:

1. I joined Spark People to track my Calories, Goals, and Workouts.

2. I put on my Neoprene Sweat Suit and am moving the coffee table to do the new Wii Fit Plus that Mr. Gaunt bought me. Per Spark People I need to burn 252 Calories tonight. I can do this! Although I have no idea how long this will take me on the Wii Fit, the new “plus” has a calorie counter, where the old one didn’t. Ill keep yah updated.

We also mailed out two paintings tonight (thanks Mr. Gaunt!!!)

Sigh…such relief. And a smidge of motivation too!

Only bad thing is, per my desired Calorie intake on Spark People, Im spent. No dinner tonight. Maybe some hot tea and a Tangerine.

It took me 40 minutes on the Wii Fit to burn 255 Calories. And in case anyone wants to know that included:

-The “SUPER HULA HOOP” (10 minutes)

-4 reps of 10 Lunges (on each leg)

-2 Beginner boxing Sessions

-1 “Island Run” (10 minutes)

-2 Short Runs (5 minutes)

-1 Meditation Session (apparently sitting there burns 1 calorie…lol)

Biggest Loser and Two Workouts in One Day!

So Im on my Wii Fit in the AM kick, but tonight after watching the season premier of Biggest Loser Season 8 I actually drug my ass to 24 hour fitness to get in my second workout of the day! Woo hoo! Im stoked that BL is back on and is going to motivated me to work my ass off to get to 50lbs lost and then to my goal weight! The last month has been super hard on me, Ive had at least 4 total meltdowns in the “Im sooooo Fat” category. Its like now Ive been at this weight for long enough, the joy of getting here has worn off and now I can see that Im still nowhere near my goal. I am NOT happy at this weight, at the way I look, at the size of my clothes, at my physical ability. I need to push through this and not just give in or claim Im doing everything I can, because Im not! I could be eating even healthier and working out even more! I know some people might think its crazy to get so worked up over something like this, to get so obsessed, but this is my dream! I have wanted this for as long as I can remember, to be an average size, to look not just cute, but hot! And this is the most motivated and hardest I have ever worked at something, and I WONT settle for anything else but goal weight. I wont!

Ok ok so maybe BL got to me a little tonight (yes I cried at least 5 times! But seriously did you hear Abby’s story?) but you know what my sister in law was really inspired by BL a while back, and she worked her ass off at the gym and lost 80 (correct me if Im wrong Ash) pounds! So you know what? I can do this too!

The other day at work I was working the front door and a thin woman walked in, and my coworker who is in her late forties and a little heavy (but not as heavy as me, plus she is really short) comes over to me and says “Ugg dont you hate skinny people?” Now first off comments like these are made to me all the time in that “we are both in the chubby girls club” its like women see me and think “Oh theres a girl who can relate to my weight problems because she is fat too!” I usually just laugh or agree or whatever, but inside Im thinking 1. How freaking rude are you? Maybe I dont want to be in your Chubby Girls Club!   2. I hardly know you, its not like Im wearing a damn Broncos Jersey and we can bond over our love of football! I cant take this fat off at the end of the day!    3. NO I DO NOT HATE SKINNY PEOPLE  (duh see the name of my blog) I actually love them! I either lover their god given genetics and have nothing but jealousy for them, or I love and respect their dedication to staying in shape! Overall I cant wait until one day people dont include me automatically in this club, because unless I have made some comment about my own weight, your comments are un welcome!

So moving on, Im off to bed to snug Mr. Gaunt so I can go to sleep and wake up and work out again! Sweet dreams blog world, and feel skinnier in the morning.

i gotta lot to talk about

Ok just a big blabbering of topics, would love comments or advice on any of them:

1. Protein and Bringing Back Eggs: Now about a month and a half ago I gave up eggs. This was after reading Skinny Bitch and deciding that I need to go as close to Vegan as possible. Well since then the weight went downa  good 10lbs, but now it is resting in a slump…boo. My big concern is Im not getting enough protein to help with err…digestion. I mean I eat fiber like its going out of business, but fiber has to have something to stick to (like protein) to work its magic. I tried the whole Greek Yogurt thing and just didnt like it (but please note I have creamy texture issues….do not make me eat pudding…gag) I dont do beans in the AM cause they take too long and that just seems odd. So Im thinking of bringing back the eggs, or egg whites, or Egg Beaters. Opinions on this? I need to do a little diet re vamp in hopes of shocking my body into dropping weight again.

2. Food Processors: I want one. A good-ish one. Easy to clean, under $75. Tell me what you know.

3. Wii Fit and Golds Gym for Wii: Im trying to do my Wii Fit more, trying to boost my working out in all ways. Mr. Gaunt bought me Golds Gym Cardio for Wii so far Im not in love, it seems to pretty much be only boxing with a little jump rope. Im gonna try it with Mr. Gaunt and see if he can figure it out for me. It does play Journey though when your working out so thats at least 5 cool points.

4. Underwear: I finally got new underwear! I bought a number of kinds, but my favorite are these cute ones from American Eagle 5 for $25! Woo hoo! I also got two new bras at Vicki’s. I heart new undies!

5. WORK WORK WORK: So they moved me BACK to the front end, so no more chickens, this is not because I said something, but becuase they are dumb and mixed things up. Although yesterday I got to be door greeater for 8 hours. My feet hurt. I interviewed last Thursday for Mr. Gaunts team and will hear in a week or so. Fingers crossed.

6. Crafts: I have my first craft fair coming up in October. I signed up back in May I think. I have since put my Etsy shop on vacation because I was focusing on all this stuff. The show is over the weekend and my work wont let me have it off, hopefully by then I will have a new job starting shortly and can just quit. I think I should start working on stuff again, get back into the whole crafting thing. We’ll see.

Gettin Fit….Wii Fit!

Well Mr. Gaunt got me a little tipsy while we wondered downtown Littleton’s block party today and then took me to Sam’s Club to buy a Wii. Ha! Ive wanted one since they came out but never felt I could bring myself to spend $250 on a Video Game thing. Well since the Wii Fit has come out it finally gave me that excuse to spend the money, plus we sold our business and therefore had a bit of extra cash.

Anyways I’m really hoping that I like the Wii Fit enough that I can cancel my 24 Fitness membership (which would pay for the wii in less than a year anyways) because I kind of hate the gym, and the idea of working out at home sounds so nice. The Wii Fit has fun games (ski jump, tight rope, etc) but also has some great running workouts and Hula Hooping! Which both wear you out! It also has yoga which I have wanted to do for years now.

Ill take some pics this week to show you and let you know how it goes!

Lost a Few Pounds in my Whiffs for Yah – missy

Ok so its not really my problem area usually, but the two pairs of jeans I have right now just smidge too tight in the waist. This also may have something to do with the fact that I have been wearing HUGE pants recently so I’m just being overly sensitive. anyways point being is Id love to firm up my waist a bit in the next two weeks (one and a half till I go to WA!)

I have one of those exercises balls that I’m gonna whip out and start doing. It came with a DVD and everything, Ive just never used it. We are also thinking we would really like to get a Wii and Wii Fit pretty soon, maybe this weekend even. A weighted Hula Hoop is also something Id love to try because I hear it can take major inches off your waist. I’m gonna measure my waist this morning and then see how many inches I can lose by July 20th.
