Gross Towels

Since moving back to Washington I realized that Towels NEVER ever dry here.

I’m usually a “use a towel, hang it up, let it dry, use it again” type of person. I would say I only wash my towel once a week.

In Colorado you could hang a towel up on a rod, or a door, or the curtain and in just a few hours it would be dry to the bone.

Here it could be three days and your towel never really feels dry. Its still damp, and damp = Musty.

The only thing I hate more than a smelly kitchen sponge, is a smelly bath towel. Gag!

I end up washing our towels all the time. They are so gross.

I dont remember this issue before I moved, although maybe I never knew anything different.

We also have a super crappy dryer, which only adds to the annoying damp thing.

If the weather would just get nicer then I could line dry things again.

In other towel news we finally made a little trip to Bed Bath and Beyond to pick out these lovely towels for our registry. In gray, duh.

Wedding registering is fun, and sort of silly, but mostly fun. We have most everything we cold ever need, but I do really want a nice MATCHING set of good towels. And sheets for that matter. Off to work out now! Oh and the painters finally showed up today to paint our door black. I’m excited! I’m actually the one who decided that’s what color it should be, and everyone agreed. Now we will see if my idea was a good one!

Our Pink House

When we moved in the house looked a little something like this…

Now it looks a like this…

JUNE 2011

Funny huh.  We did a tiny bit of landscaping too which makes it look a little better. My landlords picked the paint color, and while it’s not anything I would pick, it’s not bad. It’s unique. The doors still needs to be painted (black we think) along with the mailbox. There is also a little bit of trim on the right window that had to be repaired and will be painted later. Other than that I plan on ripping out that big UGLY bush on the right and putting in a white Lilac Tree that my brother gave me. I also think its funny how the tree in the foreground has gotten so lush!

In the back you can see where we put in the patio. Also before there was a large dirt bed (on the left) and two circle beds in the middle that we filled using the grass from the patio spot. I’m so pleased with how well the grass took, you cant even see the spots! I would like to re-lay the stones the are to the left of the porch where the hose is. The hose had a really awful leaking problem and it became a mud zone over there. Other than that the walk was edged and things were just cleaned up a bit. Oh and all the gutters were also replaced.

Tada! Oh the wonders that paint and spring can do for a house! Oh and in case anyone really wants to know, the colors are Benjamin Moore BAKED TERRA COTTA and FRAPE

House Paint Colors

Well, It’s official. We are going to be THAT house on the block.

You know, the “holy shit what were they thinking, that probably looked good on a 2″ square, but on a whole house!”

Yeah, that house.

My landlords are obviously off their rockers. Whatever. I think it will be fine. It could be way worse. It could be orange and brown…wait…it almost is orange and brown. Sigh.

Without Further ado….

The Main house color:

Benjamin Moore - Baked Terra Cotta

And The Trim:

Benjamin Moore- Frappe

To me it looks like Pink on pink. Like a giant pink house…lol!

Downside of all of this is the house is covered in lead paint (on top of asbestos shingles)! AHHHH! This means no going into the backyard for a week, and I probably shouldn’t really hang out here much either….sigh.

Oh and I leave you with a current look of the front house in case your forgot what it looks like…so just imagine it like this but pink.
